This was the middle of my stint.
We had a good outing though we had to retire the car 8 hours in. Started 33rd, got as high as 2nd overall. My stint was decent, running mid 1:23s once I got comfortable.

2024 NER first event of the year. This is my last run on Saturday which was my last run of the weekend. Not my best times but felt like I was hustling. Looking at some data shows I need to be braking later in most corners. Best time of the weekend was a 1:19.2.

Not a big fan of iRacing placing all of the low iRating LMP2s in the top split, but definitely makes for some exciting crashes. This one didn't really affect my race, maybe 1 position, and my car came out unscathed.

I filed the protest. Heard back from iracing within 15 minutes. And the offender is still racing two days later. I am very curious what the threshold is to get a ban.
That was definitely intentional
Yeah what is the deal, overtaking is an art break testing is unfair. your SR and IR are hurt, Iracing does not do justice to the community by not taking enough action against such unsportive bangers. Iracing has a problem, best advice I can think of is to avoid those Bangers in the future and ban them from having them in any future events. How to do this: when the race is over go click on their name on the race outcome/standings screen, you will get the option to see their profile, and there you can find a green box (on the right bottom) where you can see a down-pointing arrow on the right, click that and choose to ban them there. You then will not have them, in any event from then on. Reporting is useless imho.
How does that work? Would they put me in a lower split? Doesn't seem fair.

Yeah luckily it was an easy fix. And I was back out there on the next run.

Just wanted to drop by and say I’ve watched your videos quite a few times over the years. You’re driving my dream car! Meant to drive w the BMWCCA on this track in a week but alas got denied due to my still-novice driver level. Maybe next year. This is a fun track, it’s where I started driving w NASA. Nice to see it driven the other way around, it’s like a new track altogether. Looking forward to my events at WGI, here at Palmer and CMS in NH later this year! Great driving Chris!

Chris Braun Hey Chris! I’ve been driving a low-HP BMW 128i but hope to one day jump into a 987.2S or better yet a 987R. Yeah I am, too. I “reasoned” out with the organizers saying that it’s not my first HPDE but I guess the average driving level is Expert. How long/how many events did it take you to get to where you are if you don’t mind me asking? I’ve heard all good things about the R! Good to hear you are enjoying it the way it should. These cars don’t belong in a garage!
What do you use for software/hardware to get your telemetry on your videos? Nice driving in the wet by the way.

B-Stead I felt very comfortable with the group. You made the right choice to take the point by from the 911 even after giving me the point by. We both got through much quicker. I came by to say hi but couldn’t find you. Next time for sure.
Great laps. Have you tried to hit the exit curb on 6 and then breathe the throttle into 7, no brake ? different tactic, something to try. Also, are you too early in 13 maybe and missing getting on the power thru 14? These are things I'm trying - or will try next time.
B-Stead I’m back up there in a few weeks. Will definitely try those out. Not sure tracking all the way out in 6 works for me but I’ll try to see how it feels. I think your right about taking 13 later.
Oh you meant in earlier and tighter on 6. Feels like I don’t need to get in there. There’s a pretty nice groove just to the left that feels solid to me. Will try some more though.

Sorry this is so late just saw your question. I use quad lock. There is a case and mount that work together.

How do you overlay the harry lap timer on go-pro?!?!?
Step 1: You first need to set up Harry's to control a second camera. This requires the grand prix edition of the app I think. When you cross start/finish harry's will start the go pro. When you stop the lap timer harry's will stop the go pro so now you have a video on the go pro that is aligned with Harry's data. Step 2: Download the video from your go pro and get it onto your iphone or whatever device you are using Step 3: Go into Harry's > Analysis > Lap List and find your lap(s) and you will see a external video is associated with the lap. choose re-link and choose the video from your photo library where you put the video from your camera Step 4: Choose "export" to overlay data onto a new video that will have audio, video, and the data. I'll admit its really not that strait forward but I think that should get you pointed in the right direction. Good luck!
So when I turn it on with no input connected the woofer moves a little and there is a low humming sound coupled with a white noise sound (shhhhhhhh). Turning it off or unplugging is followed by a fairly loud pop.

Harrys lap timer. iPhone5 here. Works pretty well. A bit of a pain to use but gets the job done.
Nice driving - which GPS receiver do you have? Looked like the positioning and speed refreshed at a much higher than 1 Hz rate per the iphone internal GPS... Also, if you're interested, upload your Harry's file to Serious-racing.com to compare against others' laps.
Thanks Derek. Second day at this track still learning a ton. Plan on goin back in September. The GPS is from the iPhone. The phone is mounted on the windshield so the signal is decent. I've been thinking about an external gps. Is there one you would suggest? I'll upload my laps. I thought this was on by default. If not I'll get them added.
